1عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَAbout what are they asking one another1 lecture →2عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِAbout the great news3 lectures →3ٱلَّذِي هُمۡ فِيهِ مُخۡتَلِفُونَThat over which they are in disagreement1 lecture →4كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَNo! They are going to know2 lectures →5ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَThen, no! They are going to know1 lecture →6أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِهَٰدٗاHave We not made the earth a resting place1 lecture →7وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَوۡتَادٗاAnd the mountains as stakes1 lecture →8وَخَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗاAnd We created you in pairs1 lecture →9وَجَعَلۡنَا نَوۡمَكُمۡ سُبَاتٗاAnd made your sleep [a means for] rest1 lecture →10وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلَّيۡلَ لِبَاسٗاAnd made the night as clothing1 lecture →11وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشٗاAnd made the day for livelihood1 lecture →12وَبَنَيۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمۡ سَبۡعٗا شِدَادٗاAnd constructed above you seven strong [heavens]1 lecture →13وَجَعَلۡنَا سِرَاجٗا وَهَّاجٗاAnd made [therein] a burning lamp1 lecture →14وَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُعۡصِرَٰتِ مَآءٗ ثَجَّاجٗاAnd sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water1 lecture →15لِّنُخۡرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبّٗا وَنَبَاتٗاThat We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation1 lecture →16وَجَنَّـٰتٍ أَلۡفَافًاAnd gardens of entwined growth1 lecture →17إِنَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتٗاIndeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time1 lecture →18يَوۡمَ يُنفَخُ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأۡتُونَ أَفۡوَاجٗاThe Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes1 lecture →19وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ أَبۡوَٰبٗاAnd the heaven is opened and will become gateways1 lecture →20وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ فَكَانَتۡ سَرَابًاAnd the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage1 lecture →21إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتۡ مِرۡصَادٗاIndeed, Hell has been lying in wait22لِّلطَّـٰغِينَ مَـَٔابٗاFor the transgressors, a place of return23لَّـٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحۡقَابٗاIn which they will remain for ages [unending]24لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرۡدٗا وَلَا شَرَابًاThey will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink25إِلَّا حَمِيمٗا وَغَسَّاقٗاExcept scalding water and [foul] purulence26جَزَآءٗ وِفَاقًاAn appropriate recompense27إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ لَا يَرۡجُونَ حِسَابٗاIndeed, they were not expecting an account28وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابٗاAnd denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial29وَكُلَّ شَيۡءٍ أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ كِتَٰبٗاBut all things We have enumerated in writing30فَذُوقُواْ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمۡ إِلَّا عَذَابًاSo taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment31إِنَّ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًاIndeed, for the righteous is attainment32حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعۡنَٰبٗاGardens and grapevines33وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتۡرَابٗاAnd full-breasted [companions] of equal age34وَكَأۡسٗا دِهَاقٗاAnd a full cup35لَّا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا كِذَّـٰبٗاNo ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood1 lecture →36جَزَآءٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابٗا[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account37رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۖ لَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مِنۡهُ خِطَابٗا[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech38يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ صَفّٗاۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنۡ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابٗاThe Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct39ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمُ ٱلۡحَقُّۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًاThat is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return40إِنَّآ أَنذَرۡنَٰكُمۡ عَذَابٗا قَرِيبٗا يَوۡمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلۡمَرۡءُ مَا قَدَّمَتۡ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلۡكَافِرُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَٰبَۢاIndeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust
