1يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُدَّثِّرُO you who covers himself [with a garment]26 lectures →2قُمۡ فَأَنذِرۡArise and warn8 lectures →3وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرۡAnd your Lord glorify1 lecture →4وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرۡAnd your clothing purify5 lectures →5وَٱلرُّجۡزَ فَٱهۡجُرۡAnd uncleanliness avoid2 lectures →6وَلَا تَمۡنُن تَسۡتَكۡثِرُAnd do not confer favor to acquire more1 lecture →7وَلِرَبِّكَ فَٱصۡبِرۡBut for your Lord be patient6 lectures →8فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي ٱلنَّاقُورِAnd when the trumpet is blown1 lecture →9فَذَٰلِكَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَوۡمٌ عَسِيرٌThat Day will be a difficult day10عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ غَيۡرُ يَسِيرٖFor the disbelievers - not easy11ذَرۡنِي وَمَنۡ خَلَقۡتُ وَحِيدٗاLeave Me with the one I created alone12وَجَعَلۡتُ لَهُۥ مَالٗا مَّمۡدُودٗاAnd to whom I granted extensive wealth13وَبَنِينَ شُهُودٗاAnd children present [with him]14وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمۡهِيدٗاAnd spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]15ثُمَّ يَطۡمَعُ أَنۡ أَزِيدَThen he desires that I should add more16كَلَّآۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِأٓيَٰتِنَا عَنِيدٗاNo! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate17سَأُرۡهِقُهُۥ صَعُودًاI will cover him with arduous torment18إِنَّهُۥ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَIndeed, he thought and deliberated19فَقُتِلَ كَيۡفَ قَدَّرَSo may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated20ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيۡفَ قَدَّرَThen may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated21ثُمَّ نَظَرَThen he considered [again]22ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَThen he frowned and scowled23ثُمَّ أَدۡبَرَ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَThen he turned back and was arrogant24فَقَالَ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرٞ يُؤۡثَرُAnd said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]25إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا قَوۡلُ ٱلۡبَشَرِThis is not but the word of a human being26سَأُصۡلِيهِ سَقَرَI will drive him into Saqar27وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا سَقَرُAnd what can make you know what is Saqar28لَا تُبۡقِي وَلَا تَذَرُIt lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned]29لَوَّاحَةٞ لِّلۡبَشَرِBlackening the skins30عَلَيۡهَا تِسۡعَةَ عَشَرَOver it are nineteen [angels]31وَمَا جَعَلۡنَآ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَـٰٓئِكَةٗۖ وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا عِدَّتَهُمۡ إِلَّا فِتۡنَةٗ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِيَسۡتَيۡقِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَيَزۡدَادَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِيمَٰنٗا وَلَا يَرۡتَابَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ وَلِيَقُولَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٞ وَٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلٗاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَمَا يَعۡلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡبَشَرِAnd We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have…32كَلَّا وَٱلۡقَمَرِNo! By the moon33وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذۡ أَدۡبَرَAnd [by] the night when it departs34وَٱلصُّبۡحِ إِذَآ أَسۡفَرَAnd [by] the morning when it brightens35إِنَّهَا لَإِحۡدَى ٱلۡكُبَرِIndeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions]36نَذِيرٗا لِّلۡبَشَرِAs a warning to humanity37لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمۡ أَن يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوۡ يَتَأَخَّرَTo whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind38كُلُّ نَفۡسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ رَهِينَةٌEvery soul, for what it has earned, will be retained39إِلَّآ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡيَمِينِExcept the companions of the right40فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ[Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other41عَنِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَAbout the criminals42مَا سَلَكَكُمۡ فِي سَقَرَ[And asking them], "What put you into Saqar43قَالُواْ لَمۡ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصَلِّينَThey will say, "We were not of those who prayed5 lectures →44وَلَمۡ نَكُ نُطۡعِمُ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينَNor did we used to feed the poor45وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ ٱلۡخَآئِضِينَAnd we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it]46وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِAnd we used to deny the Day of Recompense47حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰنَا ٱلۡيَقِينُUntil there came to us the certainty48فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمۡ شَفَٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِينَSo there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors49فَمَا لَهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلتَّذۡكِرَةِ مُعۡرِضِينَThen what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away50كَأَنَّهُمۡ حُمُرٞ مُّسۡتَنفِرَةٞAs if they were alarmed donkeys51فَرَّتۡ مِن قَسۡوَرَةِۭFleeing from a lion52بَلۡ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمۡرِيٕٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ أَن يُؤۡتَىٰ صُحُفٗا مُّنَشَّرَةٗRather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about53كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَNo! But they do not fear the Hereafter54كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذۡكِرَةٞNo! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder55فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥThen whoever wills will remember it56وَمَا يَذۡكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ هُوَ أَهۡلُ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ وَأَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِAnd they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness
