Verses Maulana cites 2The whole surah 21
1وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَغۡشَىٰBy the night when it covers2وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰAnd [by] the day when it appears3وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰٓAnd [by] He who created the male and female4إِنَّ سَعۡيَكُمۡ لَشَتَّىٰIndeed, your efforts are diverse5فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أَعۡطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰAs for he who gives and fears Allah6وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰAnd believes in the best [reward]7فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰWe will ease him toward ease8وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰBut as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need9وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰAnd denies the best [reward]10فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلۡعُسۡرَىٰWe will ease him toward difficulty11وَمَا يُغۡنِي عَنۡهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓAnd what will his wealth avail him when he falls12إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا لَلۡهُدَىٰIndeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance1 lecture →13وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلۡأٓخِرَةَ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰAnd indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]14فَأَنذَرۡتُكُمۡ نَارٗا تَلَظَّىٰSo I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing15لَا يَصۡلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡأَشۡقَىNone will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one16ٱلَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰWho had denied and turned away17وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلۡأَتۡقَىBut the righteous one will avoid it18ٱلَّذِي يُؤۡتِي مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ[He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself2 lectures →19وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعۡمَةٖ تُجۡزَىٰٓAnd not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded20إِلَّا ٱبۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰBut only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High21وَلَسَوۡفَ يَرۡضَىٰAnd he is going to be satisfied
