1وَٱلشَّمۡسِ وَضُحَىٰهَاBy the sun and its brightness2وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَاAnd [by] the moon when it follows it3وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَاAnd [by] the day when it displays it4وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَغۡشَىٰهَاAnd [by] the night when it covers it5وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَاAnd [by] the sky and He who constructed it6وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَاAnd [by] the earth and He who spread it7وَنَفۡسٖ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَاAnd [by] the soul and He who proportioned it8فَأَلۡهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقۡوَىٰهَاAnd inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness4 lectures →9قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَاHe has succeeded who purifies it6 lectures →10وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَاAnd he has failed who instills it [with corruption]11كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِطَغۡوَىٰهَآThamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression12إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشۡقَىٰهَاWhen the most wretched of them was sent forth13فَقَالَ لَهُمۡ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقۡيَٰهَاAnd the messenger of Allah [Salih] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allah or [prevent her from] her drink14فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمۡدَمَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمۡ فَسَوَّىٰهَاBut they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them]1 lecture →15وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقۡبَٰهَاAnd He does not fear the consequence thereof
