ثُمَّ أَخَذۡتُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْۖ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
Then I seized the ones who disbelieved, and how [terrible] was My reproach
It is a fact that the expectations one has of light are not applicable to darkness. What one gets from the shade cannot be derived from sunlight. The same is the case with man. Among human beings, some have vision and some are blind. A man with eyes immediately sees his way and recognizes it. But one who is blind will simply go on groping in the dark. Similarly, with regard to insight there are two types of people, —one consisting of the living and the other consisting of the dead. The living man is one who sees things in depth—who tears apart the deceptive veil of words and grasps hidden meanings—who goes beyond superficial matters and tries to understand the inner reality—who assesses intrinsic values and not outward appearances—whose eyes are concentrated on real facts and not on irrelevant hair-splitting theories—who, after knowing the Truth, submits to it—he is the one who is alive. He is one who has been fortunate enough in this world to accept the Truth. Those whose behaviour is the very reverse of this are dead. They never come anywhere near accepting the Truth in this world of trial. They remain deaf to the call for Truth, until after death, when they go to God to face the result of their blindness.
یہ ایک حقیقت ہے کہ جو امید روشنی سے کی جاسکتی ہے وہ تاریکی سے نہیں کی جاسکتی۔ اسی طرح سایہ سے جو چیز ملے گی وہ دھوپ سے ملنے والی نہیں۔ یہی معاملہ انسان کا ہے۔ انسانوں میں کچھ آنکھ والے ہوتے ہیں اور کچھ اندھے ہوتے ہیں ۔ آنکھ والا فوراً اپنے راستہ کو دیکھ کر اسے پہچان لیتاہے۔ مگر جو اندھا ہو وہ صرف بھٹکتا پھرے گا۔ اس کو کبھی اپنے راستہ کی پہچان نہیں ہوسکتی۔
اسی طرح اندرونی معرفت کے اعتبار سے بھی دو قسم کے لوگ ہوتے ہیں۔ ایک جان دار اور دوسرے بے جان۔ جاندار انسان وہ ہے جو باتوںکو اس کی گہرائی کے ساتھ دیکھتا ہے۔ جو لفظی فریب کا پردہ پھاڑ کر معانی کا ادراک کرتا ہے۔ جو سطحی پہلوؤں سے گزر کر حقیقتِ واقعہ کو جاننے کی کوشش کرتا ہے، جو چیزوں کو ان کے جوہر کے اعتبار سے پرکھتا ہے، نہ کہ محض ان کے ظاہر کے اعتبار سے۔ جس کی نگاہ ہمیشہ اصل حقیقت پر رہتی ہے، نہ کہ غیرمتعلق موشگافیوں پر۔ جو اس کا تحمل نہیں کرسکتا کہ سچائی کو جان لینے کے بعد وہ اپنے آپ کو اس سے وابستہ نہ کرے۔ یہی جاندار لوگ ہیں۔ اور یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کو موجودہ دنیا میں حق کو قبول کرنے کي توفیق ملتی ہے۔ اور جو لوگ اس کے برعکس صفات رکھتے ہوں، وہ مردہ انسان ہیں۔ وہ امتحان کی اس دنیا میں کبھی قبول حق کی توفیق نہیں پاتے۔ وہ دعوت حق کے مقابلہ میں اندھے بنے رہتے ہیں۔ یہاں تک کہ مرکر خدا کے یہاں چلے جاتے ہیں تاکہ اپنے اندھے پن کا انجام بھگتیں۔
