وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلنَّاسَ ضُرّٞ دَعَوۡاْ رَبَّهُم مُّنِيبِينَ إِلَيۡهِ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَذَاقَهُم مِّنۡهُ رَحۡمَةً إِذَا فَرِيقٞ مِّنۡهُم بِرَبِّهِمۡ يُشۡرِكُونَ
And when adversity touches the people, they call upon their Lord, turning in repentance to Him. Then when He lets them taste mercy from Him, at once a party of them associate others with their Lord
Under ordinary circumstances man finds himself possessed of certain powers. Therefore, he assumes an air of arrogance. But, when critical conditions make him feel his helplessness, the veils are removed from his mind. At that time he is cut down to size, and realizing his helplessness, he starts calling upon God for help. This is the psychological proof of the Oneness of God. In this way, the reality is mirrored in the personal experience of the individual. But man is so foolish that, as soon as the circumstances become favourable, he reverts to his neglectfulness and arrogance.
عام حالات میں آدمی اپنے کو بااختیار پاتاہے۔ اس ليے عام حالات میں وہ مصنوعی طورپر سرکش بنا رہتاہے۔ مگر جب نازک حالات اس کو اس کی بے بسی کا تجربہ کراتے ہیں، اس وقت اس کے ذہن کے پردے ہٹ جاتے ہیں۔ وہ اس وقت وہ اصلی انسان (man cut to size) بن جاتا ہے جو کہ وہ حقیقۃً ہے۔ اس وقت وہ اپنی عاجزانہ حیثیت کا اعتراف کرتے ہوئے خدا کو پکارنے لگتا ہے۔
یہ نفسیات کی سطح پر توحید الٰہ کا ثبوت ہے۔ اس طرح انسان کو اس کے ذاتی تجربہ میں حقیقت کا چہرہ دکھایا جاتا ہے۔ مگر آدمی اتنا نادان ہے کہ جیسے ہی حالات بدلے وہ دوبارہ پہلے کی طرح غفلت اور سرکشی میں مبتلا ہوجاتاہے۔
