وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَهۡتَدُونَ
And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided
Moses and Aaron belonged to the Children of Israel. At that time, in Egypt, the Children of Israel served as labourers to the ruling community. The inferior position of the Children of Israel and the superior position of Pharaoh and his companions became a stumbling block in the latter’s acceptance of an Israeli prophet as God’s representative. Though Moses gave them strong proofs, they did not carry enough weight to persuade them to rein in their sense of superiority and simply accept the truth coming from an ‘inferior’ person. The result of this was that God Almighty finally gave His Prophet assistance and Pharaoh, despite all his power and its trappings, was engulfed in the Red Sea. Moreover, God favoured those who supported the Prophet by sending them a Book of Guidance, by following which a man might assure for himself success in this world and the Hereafter.
حضرت موسیٰ اور حضرت ہارون بنی اسرائیل کے فرد تھے۔ بنی اسرائیل اس وقت مصر میں تھے اور وہاں کی حکمراں قوم کے ليے مزدور کی حیثیت رکھتے تھے۔ بنی اسرائیل کی کمتر حیثیت اور ان کے مقابلہ میں فرعون اور اس کے ساتھیوں کی برتر حیثیت ان کے ليے مانع بن گئی۔ وہ ایک اسرائیلی پیغمبر کو نمائندہ خدا ماننے کے ليے تیار نہ ہوئے۔ حضرت موسیٰ نے اگرچہ ان کے سامنے نہایت محکم دلائل پیش کئے۔ مگر دلائل کا وزن انھیں اس کے ليے مجبور نہ کرسکا کہ وہ اپنی بر تر نفسیات کو بدلیں اور ایک محکوم شخص کی زبان سے ظاہر ہونے والی صداقت کا اعتراف کریں۔
اس کا نتیجہ یہ ہوا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے پیغمبر کی مدد کی۔ فرعون اپنی تمام طاقتوں کے ساتھ غرق کردیا گیا۔ دوسری طرف جن لوگوں نے پیغمبر کا ساتھ دیا تھا۔ ان پر خدا نے یہ احسان فرمایا کہ ان کے پاس اپنا ہدایت نامہ بھیجا جس کو اختیار کرکے آدمی دنیا اور آخرت میں کامیابی کو اپنے ليے یقینی بنا سکتا ہے۔
