أَفَرَءَيۡتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ وَأَضَلَّهُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمٖ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ سَمۡعِهِۦ وَقَلۡبِهِۦ وَجَعَلَ عَلَىٰ بَصَرِهِۦ غِشَٰوَةٗ فَمَن يَهۡدِيهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱللَّهِۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allah has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allah? Then will you not be reminded
To make desire one’s deity means giving it the supreme position in one’s life. One who thinks and acts under the influence of desire has, in effect, made himself a slave to it. Man’s mind is perfectly capable of distinguishing between right and wrong. But, when he mindlessly follows his desires, he closes the door to reason. Then when he encounters arguments in support of the Truth, he fails to feel their weight. In reply to every statement, he presents false arguments and rejects it. Such behaviour ultimately impairs his mental powers. His ears hear the words, but fail to grasp their meaning. His eyes look at the Truth, but fail to learn a lesson from it. The message of truth reaches his heart, but fails to warm it. God has made man’s power of reasoning the entrance gate for guidance. But if a man enslaved by his desires shuts off his mind, how can guidance enter?
خواهش كو اپنا معبود بنانے كا مطلب خواهش كو اپني زندگي ميں سب سے برتر مقام دينا هے جو شخص اپني خواهش كے تحت سوچے اور اپني خواهش كے تحت عمل كرے وه گويا اپني خواهش هي كو اپنا معبود بنائے هوئے ہے۔
آدمي كي عقل صحيح اور غلط كو پهچاننے كي كامل صلاحيت ركھتي هے۔ مگر جو شخص اپني عقل كو اپني خواهش كا تابع بنالے اس كا حال يه هوجاتا هے كه اس كے سامنے حق كے دلائل آتے هيں مگر وه ان كے وزن كو محسوس نهيں كرپاتا۔ وه هر بات كے جواب ميں ايك جھوٹي توجيهه پيش كركے اسے ردكرديتا هے۔ آدمي كي يه روش آخر كار اس كي عقلي قوتوں كو مسخ كرديتي هے۔ اس كے كان الفاظ سنتے هيں مگر ان كے معاني تك ان كي پهنچ نهيں هوتي۔ اس كي آنكھ حقيقت كو ديكھتي هے مگر وه اس سے سبق نهيں لے پاتي۔ اس كے دل تك ايك بات پهنچتي هے مگر وه اس كے دل كو تڑپانے والي نهيں بنتي۔
عقلي قوتوں كو خدا نے هدايت كے داخله كا دروازه بنايا هے۔ مگر جو شخص اپني خواهش پرستي ميں ان دروازوں كو بند كرلے اس كے اندر هدايت داخل هوگي تو كس راسته سے داخل هوگي۔
