أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَسَلَكَهُۥ يَنَٰبِيعَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ثُمَّ يُخۡرِجُ بِهِۦ زَرۡعٗا مُّخۡتَلِفًا أَلۡوَٰنُهُۥ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصۡفَرّٗا ثُمَّ يَجۡعَلُهُۥ حُطَٰمًاۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكۡرَىٰ لِأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ
Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky and makes it flow as springs [and rivers] in the earth; then He produces thereby crops of varying colors; then they dry and you see them turned yellow; then He makes them [scattered] debris. Indeed in that is a reminder for those of understanding
The wonderful system of rains on the earth, the resulting growth of greenery and the subsequent preparations for harvesting, have countless meaningful lessons in them. But, these lessons are available only to those who devote themselves to deep thought. On the one hand, God has created the external world in a way that everything in it has become a sign of great realities, and, on the other, He has endowed man with the ability to read these signs and understand them. Those who keep their natural capabilities alive and, by utilising them, give deep consideration to the things of the world, will have their minds filled with the deep realisation (ma‘rifah) of God. Whereas those who do not keep these capabilities alive, will be unable to learn anything, even though surrounded by countless lessons. They will not be able to see, even after seeing, and will not be able to hear, even after hearing.
زمین پر بارش کا حیرت انگیز نظام، پھر اس سے سبزہ کا اگنا، پھر فصل کی تیاری، ان مادی واقعات میں بے شمار معنوی نصیحتیں ہیں۔ مگر ان نصیحتوں کو وہی لوگ پاتے ہیں جو باتوں کی گہرائی میں اترنے کا مزاج رکھتے ہوں۔
ایک طرف اللہ نے خارجی دنیا کو اس ڈھنگ پر بنایا کہ اس کی ہر چیز حقیقتِ اعلیٰ کی نشانی بن گئی۔ دوسری طرف انسان کے اندر ایسی صلاحیتیں رکھ دیں کہ وہ ان نشانیوں کو پڑھے او ران کو سمجھ سکے۔ اب جو لوگ اپنی فطری صلاحیتوں کو زندہ رکھیں اور ان سے کام لے کر دنیا کی چیزوں پر غور کریں، ان کے سینے میں معرفت کے دروازے کھل جائیں گے۔ اور جو لوگ اپنی فطری صلاحیتوں کو زندہ نہ رکھ سکیں وہ نصیحتوں کے ہجوم میں بھی نصیحت لینے سے محروم رہیںگے۔ وہ دیکھ کر بھی کچھ نہ دیکھیں گے اور سن کر بھی کچھ نہ سنیںگے۔
