ٱسۡتِكۡبَارٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَكۡرَ ٱلسَّيِّيِٕۚ وَلَا يَحِيقُ ٱلۡمَكۡرُ ٱلسَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهۡلِهِۦۚ فَهَلۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا سُنَّتَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَۚ فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَبۡدِيلٗاۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَحۡوِيلًا
[Due to] arrogance in the land and plotting of evil; but the evil plot does not encompass except its own people. Then do they await except the way of the former peoples? But you will never find in the way of Allah any change, and you will never find in the way of Allah any alteration
When the Arab people used to hear that the Jews and other people had flouted and disobeyed their prophets, they used to say enthusiastically that if any prophet appeared among them, they would accept him wholeheartedly and obey him. But, when their prophet did appear among them, they became his dire opponents. This mentality in some form or the other exists in all people. In this world, every man presents himself as a protagonist of Truth. He professes that whenever Truth appears before him, he will readily accept it. But, when the Truth emerges before him with clear supporting arguments, he ignores it and even opposes it. The denial of Truth therefore, is not the peculiarity of any particular community, but is an outcome of man’s psychology. The acceptance of Truth very often amounts to damaging one’s own importance, and naturally man does not want his stature to be diminished. That is why he refuses to accept the Truth. He forgets that although he has the option to reject the Truth, he has no power to save himself from the result of doing so.
عرب کے لوگ جب سنتے کہ یہود نے اور دوسری قوموں نے اپنے نبیوں کی نافرمانی کی تو وہ پرجوش طورپر کہتے کہ اگر ایسا ہو کہ ہمارے درمیان کوئی نبی آئے تو ہم اس کو پوری طرح مانیں اور اس کی اطاعت کریں۔ مگر جب ان کے درمیان ایک پیغمبر آیا تو وہ اس کے مخالف بن گئے۔
یہ نفسیات کسی نہ کسی شکل میں تمام لوگوں میں پائی جاتی ہے۔ اس دنیا میں ہر آدمی کا یہ حال ہے کہ وہ اپنے کو حق پسند کے روپ میں ظاہر کرتا ہے۔ وہ کہتا ہے کہ جب بھی کوئی صحیح بات اس کے سامنے آئے گی تو وہ ضرور اس کو مان لے گا۔ مگر جب حق کھلے کھلے دلائل کے ساتھ آتاہے تو وہ اس کو نظر انداز کردیتا ہے۔ حتی کہ اس کا مخالف بن جاتا ہے۔
اس کی وجہ یہ ہے کہ انکار حق کسی خاص قوم کی خصوصیت نہیں۔ وہ انسانی نفسیات کی عام خصوصیت ہے۔ حق کو ماننا اکثر حالات میں اپنی بڑائی کو ختم کرنے کے ہم معنی ہوتاہے۔ آدمی اپنی بڑائی کو کھونا نہیں چاہتا۔ اس ليے وہ حق کو ماننے کےلیے بھی تیار نہیں ہوتا۔ وہ بھول جاتاہے کہ حق کا انکار ضرور اس کے بس میںہے مگر حق کے انکار کے انجام سے اپنے آپ کو بچانا ہر گز اس کے بس میں نہیں۔
