وَلَئِن سَأَلۡتَهُم مَّنۡ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُۚ قُلِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
And if you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth?" they would surely say, "Allah." Say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allah "; but most of them do not know
The universe is so extensive and so great that no one can claim that anybody other than God has created it. But despite accepting this fact, man’s tragedy is that he gives to things other than God, a place of prominence and greatness. This irrational behaviour is otherwise known as polytheism, or ascribing partners to God (shirk). The Majesty of God is too great to be expressed in words. The history of physical sciences is spread over thousands of years. But, in spite of innumerable researches, there are still many things about which it has not been possible to obtain complete information. For example man does not know the exact number of stars that exist in space, nor the number of species of animals and vegetation found on the earth. He remains unaware about the true nature and composition of the leaf of a tree or a grain of sand or even the many wonders hidden in the sea. In short, there are few things, big or small, in this world, about which man has obtained full information. This in itself is enough to prove that if all the trees of the world are chiselled into pens and all the seas become the ink, it will still not suffice to record the innumerable feats of God.
کائنات اتنی وسیع اور اتنی عظیم ہے کہ کوئی بھی شخص ہوش و حواس کے ساتھ یہ دعویٰ نہیں کرسکتا کہ اس کو خدا کے سوا کسی اور نے بنایاہے۔ مگر اس حقیقت کو ماننے کے باوجود انسان کا حال یہ ہے کہ وہ خدا کے سوا دوسری چیزوں کو عظمت کا مقام دیتاہے۔ یہی وہ غیر معقول رویہ ہے جس کا دوسرا نام شرک ہے۔
خدا کی عظمت اس سے زیادہ ہے کہ وہ لفظوں میں بیان کی جاسکے۔ علوم طبیعی کی تاریخ ہزاروں برس کے دائرہ میں پھیلی ہوئی ہے۔ مگر بے شمار تحقیقات کے باوجود ابھی تک کسی ایک چیز کے بارے میں بھی پوری معلومات حاصل نہ ہوسکیں۔ انسان کو آج بھی یہ نہیں معلوم کہ خلا میں کتنے ستارے ہیں۔ زمین میں نباتات اور حیوانات کی کتنی قسمیں ہیں۔ درخت کی ایک پتی اور ریت کے ایک ذرّے کی ماہیت کیا ہے۔ سمندر کے اندر کتنے عجائبات چھپے ہوئے ہیں۔ غرض اس دنیا کی کوئی بھی چھوٹی یابڑی چیز ایسی نہیں جس کے بارے میں انسان کو پوری معلومات حاصل ہوچکی ہوں، یہی واقعہ ثابت کرنے کے لیے کافی ہے کہ درختوں کے قلم اور سمندروں کی سیاہی بھی خدا کے اَن گنت کرشموںکو تحریرکرنے کےلیے کافی نہیں۔
