وَقَالَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ قُرَّتُ عَيۡنٖ لِّي وَلَكَۖ لَا تَقۡتُلُوهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوۡ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدٗا وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ
And the wife of Pharaoh said, "[He will be] a comfort of the eye for me and for you. Do not kill him; perhaps he may benefit us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not
In the period when Moses was born, the children of the Israelites were being killed. Moses’ mother was worried on this account. At that time, probably by means of a dream, she was shown how he could escape if she put him in a small box and floated it down the river Nile. Three months later, she floated Moses in a small boat. While floating, this boat arrived in front of Pharaoh’s palace. Pharaoh’s wife (Aasia) who was a virtuous lady, was filled with pity on seeing the innocent and charming face of Moses. So, on her advice, Moses was kept in Pharaoh’s palace. Tradition has it that at this juncture, Pharaoh’s wife said that the baby may become a source of happiness for them. Pharaoh replied saying, ‘For you, not for me.’ Pharaoh might have said so because of being emotionally unattached but it later turned out to be true.
حضرت موسیٰ کی پیدائش کے زمانہ میں بنی اسرائیل کے لڑکے ہلاک کيے جارہے تھے۔ اس بنا پر حضرت موسیٰ کی والدہ پریشان ہوئیں۔ اس وقت غالباً خواب کے ذریعہ آپ کی والدہ کو یہ تدبیر بتائی گئی کہ وہ آپ کو ایک چھوٹی کشتی میںرکھ کردریائے نیل میں ڈال دیں۔ انھوں نے تین ماہ بعد ایسا ہی کیا۔ یہ چھوٹی کشتی بہتے ہوئے فرعون کے محل کے سامنے پہنچی۔ فرعون کی بیوی (آسیہ) ایک نیک بخت خاتون تھیں۔ان کو حضرت موسیٰ کے معصوم اور پرکشش حلیہ کو دیکھ کر رحم آگیا۔ چنانچہ ان کے مشورہ پر حضرت موسیٰ فرعون کے محل میں رکھ ليے گئے۔
روایات میںآتا ہے کہ فرعون کی بیوی نے کہا کہ یہ بچہ آنکھ کی ٹھنڈک ہے۔ فرعون نے جواب دیا کہ تمھارے ليے ہے، نہ کہ میرے ليے (لَکِ لا لِی)۔ یہ بات غالباً فرعون نے مرد اور عورت کے فرق پر کہی ہوگی مگر بعد کو وہ عین واقعہ بن گئی۔
