فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُواْ لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجۡرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحۡنُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant
Pharaoh and his courtiers considered Moses’s feats as magical in nature. So, they planned to counter them by magic. Their imagination took them no further than thinking that if Moses could change a rod into a snake, their magicians could also change sticks into snakes. They had no knowledge beyond that. They considered Moses’s actions as those of a human being and that is why they wanted to counter them by human means. They did not know the secret that Moses’s mission was a divine mission, and which human being can clash with God? The annual national festival day of the Egyptians was appointed the day for the competition between Moses and the magicians. And for this purpose, a big open area was chosen so that a large number of people could gather and give as much encouragement to the magicians as possible.
فرعون اور اس کے درباریوں نے حضرت موسیٰ کے معاملہ کو صرف جادوکا معاملہ سمجھا۔ اس ليے جادو کے ذریعہ ان کا مقابلہ کرنے کا منصوبہ بنایا۔ ان کی سوچ جہاں تک پہنچی وہ صرف یہ تھا کہ — موسیٰ اگر لکڑی کو سانپ بناسکتے ہیں تو ہمارے جادو گر بھی لکڑی کو سانپ بنا سکتے ہیں ۔ اس سے آگے کی انھیں خبر نہ تھی۔ وہ موسیٰ کے معاملہ کو انسان کا معاملہ سمجھتے تھے۔ اس ليے انسان کے ذریعہ اس کا توڑ کرنا چاہتے تھے۔ انھوںنے اس راز کو نہیں جانا کہ موسیٰ کا معاملہ خدا کا معاملہ ہے اور کون انسان ہے جو خدا سے ٹکر لے سکے۔
حضرت موسیٰ اور جادوگروں کے درمیان مقابلہ کے ليے مصریوں کے سالانہ قومی تہوار کا دن مقرر ہوا۔ اور اس کے ليے ایک بہت بڑے میدان کا انتخاب ہوا تا کہ زیادہ سے زیادہ لوگ جمع ہوں اور زیادہ سے زیادہ جادوگروں کی حوصلہ افزائی کرسکیں۔
