تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِي نَزَّلَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ عَلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِۦ لِيَكُونَ لِلۡعَٰلَمِينَ نَذِيرًا
Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant that he may be to the worlds a warner
“The distinguisher” is the literal translation of ‘al-furqan’, which is the criterion for distinguishing between truth and falsehood. In this context “the distinguisher” means the Quran. God is all knowing and all aware and also the Absolute Sovereign. Revelation of the Book, on behalf of God, has two aspects to it. One is that it is certainly true and there is no doubt about its authenticity. The other is that, acceptance or denial of it cannot have the same outcome. God alone is the Possessor of all Powers. Nobody can influence His decision and nobody can intervene between Him and His decisions. This very fact ensures that one who adopts the Quran as his mentor, will be successful, while one who ignores it will find it impossible to save himself from failure, which is the fate ordained by God for one who ignores the Truth.
’’فرقان‘‘ کے لفظی معنی ہیں فرق کرنے والا۔ یعنی حق وباطل کے درمیان امتیاز کرنے کا معیار (criterion)۔ یہاں فرقان سے مراد قرآن ہے۔ خدا علیم وخبیربھی ہے اور حاکم مطلق بھی۔ اس ليے خدا کی طرف سے ایک کتاب فرقان کا آنا بیک وقت اپنے اندر دو پہلو رکھتا ہے۔ ایک یہ کہ وہ یقینی طورپر صحیح ہے اس کی صحت و قطعیت میں کوئی شبہ نہیں۔ دوسرے یہ کہ اس کو ماننا اور اس کو نہ ماننا دونوں کا انجام یکساں نہیں ہوسکتا۔
خدا تنہا تمام اختیارات کا مالک ہے۔ کوئی اس کی رائے پراثر انداز نہیں ہوسکتا۔ کوئی اس کے اور اس کے فیصلوں کے درمیان حائل نہیں ہوسکتا۔ یہی واقعہ اس بات کی ضمانت ہے کہ جو شخص قرآن کو اپنی رہنما کتاب بنائے گا وہ کامیاب ہوگا اور جو شخص اس کو نظر انداز کرے گا اس کے ليے کسی طرح یہ ممکن نہیں کہ اپنے آپ کو اس ناکامی سے بچائے جو حق کو نظر انداز کرنے والے کے ليے خدا نے مقدر کردیا ہے۔
