وَلَا يَأۡتَلِ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡفَضۡلِ مِنكُمۡ وَٱلسَّعَةِ أَن يُؤۡتُوٓاْ أُوْلِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱلۡمُهَٰجِرِينَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَلۡيَعۡفُواْ وَلۡيَصۡفَحُوٓاْۗ أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَن يَغۡفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ
And let not those of virtue among you and wealth swear not to give [aid] to their relatives and the needy and the emigrants for the cause of Allah, and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful
‘A’ishah’s father, Abu Bakr, had been giving financial help to Mistah ibn Uthatha, a poor migrant from Makkah, who was a distant relative of his. But when the latter actively spread slander against ‘A’ishah, Abu Bakr was naturally hurt by this and vowed that he would never again help Mistah in any way. In Islam, help is to be given to needy persons on account of their being needy and not on any other grounds. Therefore, the aforementioned Quranic verses were revealed ordering that those who could should not stop giving monetary help to those in need on account of personal grudges. They were asked whether they did not want to be pardoned by God and told that if they expected God’s forgiveness, they too should adopt a forgiving attitude towards others. On hearing this verse, Abu Bakr said: ‘Yes ! By God! We want You to forgive us; O! Lord of ours!’ and he started helping Mistah once again. In the eyes of a believer, God’s commands are of the utmost importance. As soon as a believer becomes aware of God’s injunction, he submits to it, even though it may be entirely against his wishes.
حضرت عائشہ کے خلاف طوفان اٹھانے والوں میں ایک صاحب مسطح بن اُثاثہ تھے۔ وہ ایک مفلس مہاجر تھے اور حضرت ابوبکر کے دور کے رشتہ دار تھے۔ حضرت ابوبکر اعانت کے طورپر ان کو کچھ رقم دیا کرتے تھے۔ حضرت عائشہ ابوبکر کی صاحب زادی تھیں۔ قدرتی طورپر حضرت ابو بکر کو مسطح بن اثاثہ کے عمل سے تکلیف ہوئی۔ آپ نے قسم کھالی کہ وہ آئندہ مسطح کی کوئی مدد نہ کریںگے۔
اسلام میں محتاجوں کی مدد ان کی محتاجی کی بنیاد پر ہوتی ہے، نہ کہ کسی اور بنیاد پر۔ چنانچہ قرآن میں یہ حکم اترا کہ تم میں سے جو لوگ صاحب مال ہیں وہ ذاتی شکایت کی بنا پر بے مال لوگوں کی امداد بند نہ کریں۔ کیا تم نہیں چاہتے کہ خداتم کو معاف کردے۔ اگر تم اپنے ليے خدا سے معافی کے امیدوار ہو تو تمھیں بھی دوسروں کے بارے میں معافی کا طریقہ اختیار کرنا چاہيے۔ یہ آیت سن کر حضرت ابوبکر نے کہا بَلَى وَاَللهِ، إنِّي لَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ اللهُ لِي (سیرت ابن ہشام، جلد 2، صفحہ 303-4)۔ ہاں، خدا کی قسم، میں پسند کرتا ہوں کہ اللہ مجھے معاف کردے۔ اور دوبارہ مسطح کی امداد جاری کردی۔
مومن کی نظر میں سب سے زیادہ اہمیت خدا کے حکم کی ہوتی ہے۔ خدا کا حکم سامنے آتے ہی وہ فوراً جھک جاتا ہے، خواہ خدا کا حکم اس کی خواہش کے سراسر خلاف کیوں نہ ہو۔
