لَا تَجۡـَٔرُواْ ٱلۡيَوۡمَۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ
Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped
Those completely devoted to the life of this world are not interested in any discourses about God or the Hereafter. Their interests are quite different from those of true men of faith. Talk of God and the Hereafter, however effectively presented, does not, therefore, appeal to them. They ignore all such talk, and are lost in their worldly pursuits. But, with the onset of God’s retribution, such people forget their recklessness and arrogance and start pleading humbly. At that time they bow down before God. But, doing so at that juncture is useless, because only that submission before God carries weight which is done on seeing God’s sign. Bowing down when God Himself appears in all His Might, has no value.
جو لوگ دنیا پرستی میں غرق ہوں انھیں خدا اور آخرت کی باتوں سے دل چسپی نہیں ہوتی۔ ان کی دل چسپی کی چیزیں اس سے مختلف ہوتی ہیں جو سچے اہل ایمان کی دل چسپی کی چیزیں ہوتی ہیں۔ خدا اور آخرت کی بات خواہ کتنے ہی مؤثر انداز میں بیان کی جائے، انھیں وہ زیادہ اپیل نہیں کرتی۔ وہ ایسی باتوں کو نظر انداز کرکے اپنی دوسری دلچسپیوں میں گم رہتے ہیں۔ وہ داعی حق کی مجلس سے اس طرح اٹھ جاتے ہیں جیسے وه کسی فضول قصہ گو کو چھوڑ کر چلے گئے۔
مگر جب خدا کی پکڑ آتی ہے تو ایسے لوگ غفلت اور سرکشی کو بھول کر عاجزانہ فریاد کرنے لگتے ہیں۔ اس وقت وہ خدا کے آگے جھک جاتے ہیں۔ مگر اس وقت کا جھکنا بیکار ہو تا ہے۔ کیوں کہ خدا کے آگے جھکنا وہ معتبر ہے جب کہ آدمی خدا کی نشانی کو دیکھ کر جھک گیا ہو۔ جب خدا خود اپنی طاقتوں کے ساتھ ظاہر ہوجائے اس وقت جھکنے کی کوئی قیمت نہیں۔
