أَفَلَمۡ يَسِيرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمۡ قُلُوبٞ يَعۡقِلُونَ بِهَآ أَوۡ ءَاذَانٞ يَسۡمَعُونَ بِهَاۖ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعۡمَى ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ وَلَٰكِن تَعۡمَى ٱلۡقُلُوبُ ٱلَّتِي فِي ٱلصُّدُورِ
So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts
Before God, people with eyes are those who look at things in order to learn a lesson or draw wisdom from them. Those who see things without learning a lesson from them, are blind in the eyes of God. Their seeing is like that of animals, not human beings. God has spread on the earth innumerable lesson-giving things. Among them are the ancient memorials left behind by past nations. These nations once enjoyed pomp and power, but the signs of their existence today are nothing but a few dilapidated ruins. This reminds everybody of the fate he is finally going to meet. But when people lose the mind’s eye, the eyes on the face will fail to show them anything meaningful.
خدا کے نزدیک دیکھنے والے وہ لو گ ہیں جو عبرت اور نصیحت کی نظر سے چیزوں کو دیکھیں۔ جن لوگوں کا حال یہ ہو کہ وہ واقعات کو دیکھیں مگر اس سے نصیحت نہ لے سکیں وہ خدا کی نظر میں اندھے ہیں۔ ان کا دیکھنا جانور کا دیکھنا ہے، نہ کہ انسان کا دیکھنا۔
خدا نے زمین پر نصیحت کے بے شمار سامان پھیلا دئے ہیں۔ انھیں میں سے ایک وہ قدیم یادگاریں ہیں جو پچھلی قوموں نے دنیا میں چھوڑی ہیں۔ یہ قومیں کبھی عظمت واقتدار کا مقام حاصل کيے ہوئے تھیں۔ مگر آج ان کا نشان ٹوٹے ہوئے کھنڈروں کے سوا اور کچھ نہیں۔
یہ واقعہ ہر انسان کو اس کا انجام یاد دلا رہا ہے مگر جب لوگ دل والی آنکھ کھودیں تو سر کی آنکھ انھیں کوئی بھی بامعنی چیز نہیں دکھاتی۔
