إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلۡنَٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ سَوَآءً ٱلۡعَٰكِفُ فِيهِ وَٱلۡبَادِۚ وَمَن يُرِدۡ فِيهِ بِإِلۡحَادِۭ بِظُلۡمٖ نُّذِقۡهُ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ
Indeed, those who have disbelieved and avert [people] from the way of Allah and [from] al-Masjid al-Haram, which We made for the people - equal are the resident therein and one from outside; and [also] whoever intends [a deed] therein of deviation [in religion] or wrongdoing - We will make him taste of a painful punishment
One instance of the denial of Truth is illustrated by an incident which occurred in ancient Makkah. The people of Makkah, intolerant of even the most peaceful activities of the Prophet Muhammad, imposed many restrictions on him. He and his companions became the target for atrocities, and were even prevented from entering the Ka‘bah. Such behaviour on the part of the Makkans, on top of their denial of the Truth, amounted to adding insult to injury. Those who indulge in this kind of sinful behaviour deserve the severest punishment from God.
حق کا انکار کرنے کی ایک مثال وہ ہے جو قدیم مکہ میں پیش آئی۔ مکہ کے لوگوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی انتہائی پر امن تبلیغ کو بھی برداشت نہیں کیا۔ انھوںنے آپ کے اوپر پابندیاں لگائیں۔ آپ کو اور آپ کے ساتھیوں کو یک طرفہ طورپر ظلم کا نشانہ بنایا حتی کہ انھوںنے یہ ظلم بھی کیا کہ آپ کو اور آپ کے اصحاب کو مسجد حرام میں داخل ہونے سے روکا۔
مکہ کے لوگوں کی یہ روش انکار پر سرکشی کا اضافہ تھی۔ جو لوگ ایسے ظالمانہ رویہ کا ثبوت دیں ان کے ليے خدا کے یہاں سخت ترین سزا ہے، خواہ وہ ماضی کے ظالم لوگ ہوں یا حال کے ظالم لوگ۔ اور خواہ ان کی سرکشی کا تعلق حضرت ابراہیم کی تعمیر کردہ مسجد سے ہو یا اس وسیع تر ’’مسجد‘‘ سے جس کو خدا نے زمین کی صورت میں اپنے تمام بندوں کے ليے بنایا ہے۔
