فَقُلۡنَا يَـٰٓـَٔادَمُ إِنَّ هَٰذَا عَدُوّٞ لَّكَ وَلِزَوۡجِكَ فَلَا يُخۡرِجَنَّكُمَا مِنَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ فَتَشۡقَىٰٓ
So We said, "O Adam, indeed this is an enemy to you and to your wife. Then let him not remove you from Paradise so you would suffer
To adhere steadfastly to God’s commandments, unwavering determination is essential. If a man is influenced by irrelevant factors, he will undoubtedly deviate from the path of God. In order to remain steadfastly on the path of God, it is not enough to know what His commandment is; it is also absolutely necessary to have the will to resist all that goes against His commandment, and not to let himself be influenced by it. When God ordered that all should kneel down before Adam, the angels immediately dropped to their knees. But Satan did not do so. The reason for this difference in behaviour was that the angels treated this matter as pertaining to God, whereas Satan, on the contrary, saw it as the affair of a mere mortal. When an issue concerns God, man has no option but to bow to His wishes. But when it is treated as relating to a human being, the person in question will appraise the human being before him. If the latter is comparatively stronger, he will kneel down; otherwise he will refuse to kneel down, even if such an action be the demand of truth and justice.
خدا کے حکم پر قائم رہنے کے لیے مضبوط ارادہ انتہائی طورپر ضروری ہے۔ آدمی اگر غیر متعلق چیزوں سے متاثر ہو جایا کرے تو وہ یقیناً خدا کے راستے سے ہٹ جائے گا۔ خدا کے راستہ پر قائم رہنے کے لیے صرف خداکے حکم کو جاننا کافی نہیں، بلکہ یہ عزم بھی لازمی طورپر ضروری ہے کہ آدمی حکم خداوندی کے خلاف باتوں سے مزاحمت کرے اور ان کو اپنے اوپر اثر انداز نہ ہونے دے۔
خدا نے آدم کو سجدہ کرنے کا حکم دیا تو فرشتے فوراً سجدہ میں گر گئے۔ مگر شیطان نے سجدہ نہیں کیا۔ اس فرق کی وجہ کیا تھی۔ اس کی وجہ یہ تھی کہ فرشتوں نے اس معاملہ کو خدا کا معاملہ سمجھا۔اس کے برعکس، ابلیس نے اس کو انسان کا معاملہ سمجھا ۔جب معاملہ کو خدا کا معاملہ سمجھا جائے تو آدمی کے لیے ایک ہی ممکن صورت ہوتی ہے۔ وہ یہ کہ وہ اس کی اطاعت کرے۔ مگر جب معاملہ کو انسان کا معاملہ سمجھ لیا جائے تو آدمی یہ کرے گا کہ وہ سامنے کے انسان کو دیکھے گا۔ اگر وہ اس سے طاقت ور ہے تو وہ جھک جائے گا۔ اور اگر وہ اس سے طاقت ور نہیں ہے تو وہ جھکنے سے انکار کردے گا، خواہ حق کا واضح تقاضا یہی ہو کہ وہ اس کے آگے اپنے آپ کو جھکا دے۔
