وَٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةٗ لِّيَكُونُواْ لَهُمۡ عِزّٗا
And they have taken besides Allah [false] deities that they would be for them [a source of] honor
Man wants to be able to do whatever he likes in this world, but at the same time he does not want to be made to suffer the consequences of his wrongdoings. Naturally, such leniency is not to be expected from God. Therefore, man courts such beings as are supposedly near and dear to God and who could plead his case to Him. But such a course of action, based as it is on false conjectures, will be of no avail to him or to anybody else. So much so that even those beings whom he had supposed to be partners of God and whom he ritually worshipped, will themselves disown him on Judgement Day. They will show him nothing but hatred.
انسان یہ چاہتا ہے کہ وہ دنیا میں جو چاہے کرے، مگر اس کو اس کی بدعملی کا انجام نہ بھگتنا پڑے۔ اس قسم کی حفاظت کسی کو اللہ سے نہیں مل سکتی تھی۔اس لیے اس نے ایسی ہستیاں تجویز کرلیں جو اللہ کی محبوب ہوں اور اس کی طرف سے اللہ کے یہاں سفارشی بن سکیں۔
مگر یہ سب بے بنیاد قیاسات ہیں، جو کسی کے کچھ کام آنے والے نہیں۔ حتی کہ وہ ہستیاں جن کو آدمی نے شریک فرض کرکے ان کے لیے عبادتی مراسم ادا کيے تھے وہ بھی قیامت کے دن اس سے برأت کریں گی۔ انسان کو ان سے نفرت کے سوا اور کچھ حاصل نہ ہوسکے گا۔
