فَٱنطَلَقَا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا لَقِيَا غُلَٰمٗا فَقَتَلَهُۥ قَالَ أَقَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسٗا زَكِيَّةَۢ بِغَيۡرِ نَفۡسٖ لَّقَدۡ جِئۡتَ شَيۡـٔٗا نُّكۡرٗا
So they set out, until when they met a boy, al-Khidh r killed him. [Moses] said, "Have you killed a pure soul for other than [having killed] a soul? You have certainly done a deplorable thing
Damaging a good boat and killing a child do not appear to be good deeds. But, as the ensuing verses show, a profound sagacity was hidden in them. These apparently wrong deeds were in reality correct and useful acts. This also provides an answer to what is known as the ‘problem of evil’. In this world of human beings, there are many things which at first sight appear to be evils in the system. Yet, they are based on deep wisdom. It is true that in the present world this wisdom is hidden behind a veil. But, in the life hereafter, this veil will not be there. At that time, man will come to know that whatever happened was done according to the highest standards of justice.
اچھی کشتی کو عیب دار بنانا اور چھوٹے بچہ کو ہلاک کرنا بظاہر ایسے کام ہیں جو صحیح نہیں۔ مگر جیسا کہ آگے کی آیات بتاتی ہیں، اس میں نہایت گہری مصلحت چھپی ہوئی تھی۔ یہ بظاہر غلط کام حقیقت کے اعتبار سے بالکل صحیح اور مفید کام تھے۔
اس میں اس مسئلہ کا بھی ایک جواب ہے جس کو عام طورپر خرابی کا مسئلہ (problem of evil) کہاجاتاہے۔ انسانی دنیا کی بہت سی چیزیں جن کو دیکھ کر یہ سمجھ لیا جاتا ہے کہ دنیا کے نظام میں خرابیاں ہیں، وہ گہری مصلحت پر مبنی ہوتی ہیں۔ موجودہ زندگی میں یقیناً اس مصلحت پر پردہ پڑا ہوا ہے۔ مگر آخرت میں یہ پردہ باقی نہ رہے گا۔ اس وقت آدمی جان لے گا کہ جو کچھ ہوا وہی ہونا بھی چاہیے تھا۔
