أَمۡ أَمِنتُمۡ أَن يُعِيدَكُمۡ فِيهِ تَارَةً أُخۡرَىٰ فَيُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ قَاصِفٗا مِّنَ ٱلرِّيحِ فَيُغۡرِقَكُم بِمَا كَفَرۡتُمۡ ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُواْ لَكُمۡ عَلَيۡنَا بِهِۦ تَبِيعٗا
Or do you feel secure that He will not send you back into the sea another time and send upon you a hurricane of wind and drown you for what you denied? Then you would not find for yourselves against Us an avenger
Despite man’s insolence, God does not seize upon him immediately. Rather He afflicts him with some natural calamity by way of warning. Man is awakened by this but is so heedless that, as soon as he is relieved of his distress, this feeling of wakening soon vanishes into thin air. He remains blissfully unaware of the fact that he is as much in God’s grip as he was earlier. His coming home safely after the sea voyage does not rule out the possibility of suffering the same calamity again. Furthermore, the dangers and insecurity on land are no less than at sea. Tempests at sea are like earthquakes on land. There is no place where he can take refuge from God’s chastisement.
خدا انسان کو اس کی سرکشی کے باوجود فوراً نہیں پکڑتا۔ بلکہ اس پر وقتی آفت بھیج کر اس کو خبردار کرتاہے۔ مگر انسان کا حال یہ ہے کہ جب آفت آتی ہے تو وقتی طورپر اس کے اندر احساس جاگتا ہے مگر آفت کے رخصت ہوتے ہی اس کا احساس بھی رخصت ہوجاتا ہے۔ حالاں کہ بعد کو بھی وہ اتنا ہی خدا کے قبضہ میں ہوتا ہے جتنا کہ وہ پہلے تھا۔
سمندر کے سفر سے اگر ایک بار وہ سلامتی کے ساتھ واپس آگیا ہے تو یہ بھی ممکن ہے کہ اس کو دوبارہ سمندر کا سفر پیش آئے اور وہ دوبارہ اسی آفت میں گھر جائے جس میں وہ پہلے گھرا تھا۔ مزید یہ کہ خشکی کے خطرات سمندر کے خطرات سے کم نہیںہیں۔ سمندر میں جو چیز طوفان ہے خشکی پر وہی چیز زلزلہ بن جاتی ہے۔ پھر وہ کون سا مقام ہے جہاں آدمی کوئی ایسی چیز پالے جو خدا کے مقابلہ میں اس کی طرف سے روک بن سکے۔
