قُلِ ٱدۡعُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ زَعَمۡتُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ فَلَا يَمۡلِكُونَ كَشۡفَ ٱلضُّرِّ عَنكُمۡ وَلَا تَحۡوِيلًا
Say, "Invoke those you have claimed [as gods] besides Him, for they do not possess the [ability for] removal of adversity from you or [for its] transfer [to someone else]
The entities given the status of objects of worship by man are themselves creations of God, for instance, pious people or the angels. They have not claimed divine status for themselves. It is their followers who worship and glorify them. If one had the insight to perceive the unseen, one would see a strange sight. One would see that man gives the status of an object of worship to certain personalities at that very time when those very personalities shudder at the thought of God’s Majesty: they themselves are forced to seek His mercy to attain salvation.
انسان جن ہستیوں کو اللہ کے سوا اپنا معبود بناتاہے وہ سب وہی ہیں جو اللہ کی مخلوق ہیں۔ مثلاً بزرگ یا فرشتے وغیرہ۔ غور سے دیکھيے تو یہ معبودیت سراسر یک طرفہ ہوتی ہے۔ ان ہستیوں نے خود اپنے خدا ہونے کا دعویٰ نہیں کیاہے۔ یہ صرف دوسرے لوگ ہیں، جو ان کو معبود فرض کرکے ان کی تقدیس و تعظیم میں لگے ہوئے ہیں۔
اگر کسی کو حاضر سے غائب تک دیکھنے کی نظر حاصل ہو اور وہ پوری صورت حال پر نظر کرے تو وہ عجیب مضحکہ خیز منظر دیکھے گا۔ وہ دیکھے گا کہ انسان کچھ ہستیوں کو بطور خود معبود کا درجہ دے کر ان کی پرستش کر رہا ہے۔ اور ان سے مرادیں مانگ رہا ہے جب کہ عین اسی وقت خود ان ہستیوں کا یہ حال ہے کہ وہ اللہ کی عظمت کے احساس سے سہمے ہوئے ہیںاور اس کی رحمت وقربت کی تلاش میں ہمہ تن سرگرم ہیں۔
