لَقَدۡ كَانَ فِي قَصَصِهِمۡ عِبۡرَةٞ لِّأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِۗ مَا كَانَ حَدِيثٗا يُفۡتَرَىٰ وَلَٰكِن تَصۡدِيقَ ٱلَّذِي بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِ وَتَفۡصِيلَ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ وَهُدٗى وَرَحۡمَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ
There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding. Never was the Qur'an a narration invented, but a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of all things and guidance and mercy for a people who believe
The stories of previous prophets and their communities are the stories of all mankind, as far as moral lessons are concerned. If a man exercises his wisdom he will be able to derive lessons for the present period from past incidents. He will amend his way of life on seeing the fate of others. The Quran is not a book concocted by a man. It is a Book revealed by God. It is exactly in accordance with the predictions that were made in the previous scriptures. It contains all the necessary guidance required by man. If man follows this guidance, he shall certainly be blessed by God both in this world and in the Hereafter.
پچھلے پیغمبروں اور ان کی قوموں کی کہانی عبرت کے اعتبار سے تمام انسانوں کی کہانی ہے۔ اگر آدمی عقل سے کام لے تو وہ ماضی کے واقعہ میں حال کی نصیحت پالے گا۔ دوسروں کے انجام کو دیکھ کر وہ اپنے احوال کو درست کرلے گا۔
قرآن کسی انسان کی گھڑی ہوئی کتاب نہیں، وہ خدا کی طرف سے اتری ہوئی کتاب ہے۔ وہ عین اس پیشین گوئی کے مطابق آئی ہے جو پچھلی آسمانی کتابوں میں کی گئی تھی۔ اس میں ہدایت سے متعلق ہر ضروری چیز کا بیان موجود ہے۔ وہ اپنے آغاز کے اعتبار سے انسانوں کے لیے رہنمائی ہے اور اپنے انجام کے اعتبار سے ان کے لیے رحمت۔
