ڈاکٹر عبد السلام(1926-1996)،پروفيسر نظري طبيعات، امپيريل كالج، لندن اگلے دس برسوں ميں هميں يا تو زڈ ذره (Z-particle)كا وجود تسليم كرناهے، يا يه ثابت كرنا هے كه اس كا كوئي وجود نهيں۔اگر اس كا وجود ثابت هوگيا ،جيسا كه موجوده نظريے كي پيشين گوئي هے تو اس كے بعد عالم فطرت كي چار طاقتيں جن كا هميں علم هے ان ميں سے دو طاقتوں كا ايك هونا ثابت هوجائے گا۔ (وہ چار طاقتيں يه هيں كشش، برقي مقناطيسيت، طاقت ورنيوكلير فورس جوكه ايٹم كے نيوكليس كو آپس ميں باندھے رکھتی هے، اور كمزور نيوكلير فورس جو ريڈيائي لهروں سے متعلق هے)۔ پروفيسر عبد السلام اوردوسرے سائنس دانوں نے حال ميں كمزور نيوكلير فورس اور برقي مقناطيسيت كو ايك ثابت كرنے ميں كچھ كاميابي حاصل كي هے۔ زڈذره كي دريافت سے مضبوط تجرباتي تائيد حاصل هوگي۔

If it does turn out to exist as predicted by current theory, it will clinch the unification of two of the four forces we know in nature. [The four forces are gravity, electro-magnetism, the strong nuclear force that binds the atomic nucleus together, and the weak nuclear force involved in radioactivity. Recently, Professor Salam and others have made some progress towards unifying the weak nuclear force and electromagnetism. The discovery of the Z-particle would lend strong experimental support.]
